The toolkit informs stakeholders about the challenges disadvantaged groups in Hungary face in the low-carbon transition. Based on action research, it focuses on Roma communities, single mothers, and migrants, showing how energy poverty is often linked to wider issues such as insecure housing, low income, discrimination, legal uncertainty, and care burdens.
Ana Stojilovska's book chapter is an outcome of the workshop titled “Mapping the intersections of Social Policy & Climate Change” that took place online on the 19th and 30th November 2021, organized by the Social Policy Association’s Climate Justice and Social Policy Group. The workshop aimed to map the intersections between social policy and climate change, in order to generate actionable knowledge and challenges for the discipline as a whole to take forward in an integrated manner.
As part of the WISE (Women in Solidarity for Energy), LIGHT (Local Initiatives for Green Housing Transitions), and OTKA - Hungary in the Energy Crisis projects, Sára Szabó, Ana Stojilovska, and Lili Szücs from the Institute for Political Science organized on 12 May 2026 the conference “The Female Faces of Poverty – Challenges, Services, Vulnerable Groups” at the MTA Humanities Research House in Budapest.
