Ana Stojilovska, Sára Szabó, and Lili Szücs participated in the closing event of the WISE (Women in Solidarity for Energy) project in Brussels on 9 June 2026 with three presentations: a housing-focused presentation for the New European Bauhaus Festival, a presentation about the WISE implementation in Hungary, and a Workshop about engagement with local actors to address energy poverty. This marked the end of the WISE project that aimed at raising awareness about the gendered aspects of energy poverty faced by single women in Europe. CSS was the Hungarian partner in the consortium.

The latest study by Gabriella Szabó, Eszter Farkas, Orsolya Ring, and Timm Beichelt examines the strategic use of anger in political communication on social media during the 2019 and 2024 European Parliamentary elections in Germany and Hungary.

The toolkit informs stakeholders about the challenges disadvantaged groups in Hungary face in the low-carbon transition. Based on action research, it focuses on Roma communities, single mothers, and migrants, showing how energy poverty is often linked to wider issues such as insecure housing, low income, discrimination, legal uncertainty, and care burdens.

Ana Stojilovska's book chapter is an outcome of the workshop titled “Mapping the intersections of Social Policy & Climate Change” that took place online on the 19th and 30th November 2021, organized by the Social Policy Association’s Climate Justice and Social Policy Group. The workshop aimed to map the intersections between social policy and climate change, in order to generate actionable knowledge and challenges for the discipline as a whole to take forward in an integrated manner.

As part of the WISE (Women in Solidarity for Energy), LIGHT (Local Initiatives for Green Housing Transitions), and OTKA - Hungary in the Energy Crisis projects, Sára Szabó, Ana Stojilovska, and Lili Szücs from the Institute for Political Science organized on 12 May 2026 the conference “The Female Faces of Poverty – Challenges, Services, Vulnerable Groups” at the MTA Humanities Research House in Budapest. 

As part of the WISE (Women in Solidarity for Energy) and LIGHT (Local Initiatives for Green Housing Transitions) projects, Sára Szabó, Lili Szücs, and Ana Stojilovska from the Institute for Political Science organized a “storytelling workshop” with single mothers on the 18th of April 2026 in Budapest.

Researchers from the Institute for Political Science and the Institute of Sociology participated in the international workshop called “Workshop on Sustainability Conflicts in Central and Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans“  in Vienna on 20–21 May 2026.
